  • Speaking and listening across grade levels is supported when students participate in shared language activities during which they are prompted to produce a variety of complete sentences. 
  • Understanding the different functions and usage of words, such as nouns, verbs, plurals, pronouns, adjectives, and adverbs, will help students expand the complexity of their sentences to include details or requested clarification. 
  • Understanding the various functions and usage of words will help students expand their oral vocabulary and make effective word choices necessary to produce complete sentences that clearly communicate meaning and provide requested details.
